Public Health Guidelines for Using UW-Madison Campus Buses – Transportation Services – UW-Madison

0

After more than a year of reduced occupancy, the campus is back to full capacity, including campus buses. As we adjust to this ‘new normal’ it is worth remembering taking the bus is still a safe way to travel.

Madison Metro operates campus bus lines 80, 81, 82, and 84. Madison Metro follows all federal, state, and local public health guidelines, including a face mask requirement for all riders and drivers. Up-to-date information on the operation of the metro is available on the Metro COVID-19 Service Updates Webpage. Metro will adapt its service accordingly should public health guidelines change.

Route 80 campus buses arrive every 5-7 minutes. Many people try to take the first bus after a class change, which usually means these buses are full. The next bus will often have more space. To see the Metro website for details of bus routes, including maps and timetables.

Due to understaffing and limited vehicle availability, it is currently not possible to provide additional buses on campus.

Health and safety reminders:

  • Campus has extremely high vaccination rate for students and employees. This high level of immunization means we have a robust level of protection on campus.
  • Protect yourself by choosing a good quality face mask and wearing it correctly. Multi-layered fabric or disposable masks that have a nasal thread and fit snugly over your nose and mouth to prevent leaks offer the best protection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Stay home if you have symptoms of COVID-19, even if you are vaccinated. Use the coronavirus autocontroller from the CDC and consider getting tested.
