President for maintaining health guidelines on campuses
President M Abdul Hamid today called on the country’s university authorities to ensure appropriate health guidelines in classrooms, dormitories, campuses, offices and other places to provide physical education, as a delegation of Dhaka University (DU) paid him a courtesy visit to Bangabhaban here. .
The president, also chancellor of the university, suggested that the university administration take measures to supervise the vaccination of all students as soon as possible, said the deputy press secretary to President Munshi Jalal Uddin. to BSS after the meeting.
During the meeting, the head of state also ordered the relevant authority to take effective action by organizing additional classes to compensate students for their class losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman led the delegation while Professor Pro-VC (administration) Dr Muhammad Samad, Professor Pro-VC (education) Dr ASM MaKsud Kamal and Treasurer Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed accompanied him.
Abdul Hamid categorically gave priority to the respect of the sanitary directives saying: “The rules of health must be respected above all”.
The VC briefed the President on various aspects of the university as well as general preparations for the start of physical education activities.
He informed that physical education activities would be started after receiving at least one dose of vaccine from the whole university.
All students will be included in the step-by-step vaccination program, the CV added.
The President was also informed of the preparations for the colorful event to be held on November 1, 2021 to mark the 100th anniversary of DU.
