Health Protocols Take Center Stage at NYE Party in Nashville | News

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – The New Years celebration in Nashville is just a few days away. The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation has safety protocols in place for the public and those working to organize the event.

The event comes just as Nashville and the country see an increase in Covid-19 cases and see more of the Omicron variant.

The New Year celebrations are approaching and all over the world there is a desire to party. But the urge to let go is countered by the highly transmissible variant of omicron.

The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation says its concern about the Omicron variant is very high, but that it is monitoring the Covid-19 variant and making protocol changes if necessary.

“We go into our live show with Zac Brown Band, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt and several special guests. we expect a lot from these only in Nashville for this event, said Andrea Arnold, director of public affairs for the Nashville Convention Visitors Corporation.

The stage is almost set for those much-anticipated Nashville moments at the New Years Eve event, and a large crowd is expected at Friday’s big party.

“Safety always with our events is of the utmost importance,” said Arnold.

And that means safety protocols that everyone must follow, including those planning to come to the event.

“We ask for a negative test carried out 48 hours before. The 30th or the 31st. A monitor test if you can bring that. We will allow you to present a vaccination record instead. And masks are encouraged for the general public, ”said Arnold

And it includes safety protocols for the crew working to organize the event.

“By simply taking more stringent protocols within our work staff and our production team, you see behind me working. We test them daily. So we take this extremely seriously, ”said Arnold.

NCVC says they are working with health officials. But I want the public to know if they make any changes to the protocols, this will be promoted on the NCVC website and “visit the city of music” social media pages.

“So if you are planning to come and participate in the event, we ask that you follow us, so that you are up to date with the latest information and any changes. And check out our website before you get off, ”said Arnold.

This will be the first time NCVC will broadcast 5 hours live on New Years Eve. The door opens at 4:30 PM on Friday and there will be several live events ahead of the show.

News 4 has asked if the show will continue despite the spread of Covid, organizers say this is the plan but they will continue to monitor everything.
